Here in the UK we are enjoying a 2-week break for Easter. Every year I do several organising projects in these 2 weeks. Of course I have lovely days out with my kids, we see friends, we visit our family, but apart from all the fun stuff there is still enough time to get some organising projects done. While the kids play with their toys, are in the garden on the trampoline or are watching a movie I sort stuff out.

Here are my top 3 organising projects:

1: Wash the hats, gloves, scarves and very thick winter coats and put them away for next winter. Get out the summer items (sunglasses, sunhats, summer jackets) and see if they are still in good condition. If not put these items on your shopping list and let the old ones go.

2: Winter clothes gets swapped for summer clothes. I go through the children’s and my wardrobe and have a sort out. The clothes that haven’t been worn at all or outgrown are either given to friends or the charity shop, the clothes that need mending go on another pile and what is kept for next year is put away. This is also the perfect time to have a look at all the shoes. Which ones need polishing or mending and which winter boots can go in the back of the wardrobe for next year?

3: Give 1 or 2 rooms a deep clean. Wash the curtains, wash the windows, clean the ceilings and light fittings. Vacuum under the bed, turn the mattress, wash the mattress protector, air the duvets, dust the skirting boards, etc. This is not done in one go, but spread over several days an hour here and there, to make it manageable. It is a great feeling to know one or two rooms are done. The next room is done in the next holiday!

Enjoy your Easter holidays and please share if you’ve managed to do a few projects as well!
